Add funds to PayPal from credit card or debit card

Many of my blog visitors have often enquired if PayPal users can transfer funds from our credit or debit card to PayPal. The answer is no and yes.

Funds are only transferred from our card to our PayPal account when a specific payment is made using PayPal and our card is our funding source in PayPal for a specific payment.

This means when you pay with PayPal at an online store, website or a response to “Request for Payment in PayPal”, the specified amount is transferred to your PayPal account (buyer’s) and then immediately transferred to the seller’s PayPal account. Your balance in your PayPal account will then be zero.

If your country of your PayPal account is Malaysia, you will see the following when you click “My Account” and then “Add Funds”.

PayPal Add funds not available for Malaysia

See the second paragraph:

When you make a payment, PayPal charges the buyer’s credit card and instantly credits the seller’s PayPal account.

  1. So actually how do we make our bank accounts as the funding source? Do we need to go to the bank first and ask them about this paypal service? or do we just fill in the bank account number into paypal bank account information? which bank in malaysia does accept this paypal service? and yeah btw, when i click on profile>add/edit bank account, it is stated specifically to add US bank account only. So how do we do this exactly. sorry too many questions. I’m totally lost! :p thanks

  2. Hi nana. None of the banks in Malaysia now can be a source of funding for Malaysian PayPal accounts. We have no idea when this will be rolled out but definitely not very soon.

Work is only progress to allow withdrawal of funds from Malaysian PayPal account to Malaysian bank accounts. Stay tune.
