PayPal’s Gift to Malaysians

I am so excited right now!

While I was setting up Venmo for nonprofits, a friend notified me that Malaysians can now withdraw their PayPal funds to their credit card, debit card or prepaid card which has the Visa or MasterCard logo. This is indeed a blessing for Malaysians who have funds in their PayPal account which includes myself. attempted to withdraw to his Public Bank MasterCard. Upon submitting his card details, his attempt was rejected and was displayed an error message:

This withdrawal cannot be completed because your card issuer does not allow withdrawals to this card. To withdraw funds from your PayPal account to a credit, debit, or prepaid card, add a different card with a Visa or MasterCard logo.

I attempted myself. Upon signing into my account, I clicked on the menu “Withdraw” and “transfer funds to you card”. WoHooo!!!

Unlike, I was not prompted to enter my card details when I attempted a withdrawal. PayPal auto-selected my existing Public Bank Visa Electron just like below.

I am not withdrawing my PayPal funds at the moment. Most likely I will be selling to someone at a much better rate than the rate offered by my card issuer.
